Great weather and sharp racing at Belgian Marathon Series event, Raid des Hautes Fagnes
The signal for a well-deserved European summer vacation was the wrap up of the 4th Belgian Marathon Series event, Raid des Hautes Fagnes.
Held in Belgium on 23 June, the event was based at the foot of Malmedy Cathedral, which was built between 1776 and 1784 in Waimes sandstone.
While having been faced with challenging weather all season, race day was due to be a good one, but routes would need to be adapted to account for the massively muddy pools.
As expected, racing was on fire, with riders being taken through postcard picture forests and past the impressive Robertville dam.
With four events of the series now done, the final three will kick off again on 18 August with Chouffe Marathon in Houffalize region.
