War Crime Blues - song performed solo (vocals/guitar) 2.16.1 - What is this? Reiter In was Whitley's 11th studio recording. It was recorded in Catskill, NY, USA on June 1-3, & 5 as a ensemble effort with a band. The songs were mostly recorded in one take, analogue, and without overdubs. The 12" release is 180 gram vinyl limited to 1000 copies. "I Wanna Be Your Dog" / "I Go Evil", the first single is a 7" release limited to 500 copies. 2.16.2 - Who are Bastard Club? Dislocation Blues (2006) is a collaborative release that Lang and Whitley recorded "live in a wonderful sounding room, with a great recording engineer in a no-stress environment over three days" in April 2005. It includes a couple of new songs they wrote together as well as several covers. Said Lang, "Of the twelve songs Chris sung seven, I sung four (with Chris singing harmony throughout one) and we both sung one together. All but three songs are with a great rhythm section - Grant Cummerford on upright and electric bass, and Ashley Davies on drums. There were also some live tracks selected for a bonus disc." 2.17.3 - Who wrote and popularized "Stagger Lee"? Promos are not commercially-available (it is against the law to sell them) and meant for radio stations and "freebies". Unlike the North American release, this version of the CD does not contains the CD Extra material (see 2.4.2). 4.4 - Dirt Floor 4.4.1 - What's different? Three additional songs have been added to this CD release: "The Model", "Alien (live with Trixie Whitley)", and "Living with the Law (live)". There are undoubtedly more. 5.3 - Living with the Law (cd: 468568 2 + 468568 4) This item is a box containing Living with the Law on both CD and cassette. 5.3 - In the Foreground Chris Whitley - In the Foreground is an interview CD from Canada. It contains Whitley's answers to a variety of questions and a cue sheet that allows radio interviewers to construct a seemingly one-on-one "interview". This CD does not contain music. 5.4 - Westwood One - In Concert The Westwood One - In Concert CD contains Whitley's live performance of April 29, 1992 at The Palace in Hollywood, CA. It was recorded and edited (it contains commercials and announcer commentary between songs) for North American radio stations by Westwood One. Whitley's performance is actually on disc two of a two-CD set. The first CD features a live performance by Jeff Healey. The radio show originally aired during the week of June 8, 1992. 5.5 - Weightless The radio promo for "Weightless" contains a remix of the song by producer / musician Daniel Lanois (who also plays the guitar solo on the song). This remix is the same as found on Chris Whitley - Long Way Around: An Anthology 1991-2001 (2002).
